Martha Hughes Cannon Statue Oversight Committee is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established by the legislature to accomplish the fundraising, design, and construction of a Statue to be placed in the United States Capitol.

Our Mission

The Martha Hughes Cannon Statue Oversight Committee (House Bill 444, 2018 General Session) was charged with overseeing the creation and placement of a new statue in National Statuary Hall. We will work with Utah Artist Ben Hammond, and our supporters around the state to design, fund, and install the new statue in August 2020.

The story of the struggle for woman’s suffrage in Utah is the story of all efforts for the advancement and betterment of humanity.
